Do PR Students and Pros Want to Work In-House or at an Agency?

January is almost here and you know what that means? Companies are hiring!

While finding jobs in this economy is no easy task, most places look to do their hiring at the start of a new year in order to get people on board and prepared to execute new yearly plans.

So with that in mind, I’m curious to know just what types of jobs people are looking to pursue. Whether you currently have a position or you’re pursuing one, please take a look at the poll below and submit a response.

  1. In-house FTW! Think about it, agency kids: no time sheets ever again! 🙂

In all seriousness, I think young PR pros should definitely start out at an agency and preferably one with a somewhat diverse client base to get a feel for what they like.

After that, go in-house to an industry that you learned you like during your agency time. The upside of in-house (at a company the size of mine anyway) is that it opens a lot of doors to other opportunities should I one day decide I am fed up of PR. The downside is that if I truly want to practice PR the rest of my life then it certainly limits my options in the long-run.
